Mohammad Ali Jinnah University was established in 1998 after the grant of a charter by the Government of Sindh, which was promulgated in the year 2000. The University, unlike other institutions which have a degree awarding status only, enjoys the privileged status of a comprehensive university. The intention in naming the University after Qaid-e-Azam was to emulate his vision of providing quality education to the youth of the nation. Mohammad Ali Jinnah University's prestigious and spacious Karachi Campus has acquired an enviable reputation for its facilities and the quality of education offered. It has an excellent record of success in a wide range of academic and professional training courses.

The programs at MAJU are tailored to meet the real needs of today’s economy and employment atmosphere. The curriculum is constantly updated to remain in line with the demands of current technology and new developments. The University also conducts training sessions, seminars, and workshops, which enable our students to apply what they have learned to practical situations.

Research is another area of prime importance at MAJU. Research and Development are the crucial tools which countries use to transform their developing economies into developed nations. With advanced degree programs in Banking and Finance, Management Information Systems, Computer Science and Telecommunication, we are preparing young men and women to meet the challenges of the new millennium.

MAJU is one of the most ambitious projects of The Punjab Group to date. With over two decades of experience in providing quality education to the community, the Group wished to expand its horizons in the higher educational arena. The Punjab Group had already established numerous colleges around the country, including the renowned Punjab College of Business Administration (PCBA), Punjab College of Computer Sciences (PICS) and Punjab Colleges of Law, Commerce and Science. The Punjab Group was also honored when the University of Central Punjab became the first private university to be awarded degree-granting status by the Government of the Punjab in 2002. More recently, the Group has taken on the challenge of establishing a school system which caters from Playgroup to A’ Level. Resource Academia was launched in 2003 and now boasts three campuses in Lahore; a Pre-Junior School, Senior Branch, and a newly inaugurated A’ Level campus. The Islamabad campus currently goes up to O’ Level and plans are underway to extend the program to A’ Level. The Punjab Group can proudly say, it covers education from Playgroup up to Ph.D. level under its umbrella.
